Anyone else feeling the post-holiday blues!?! I sure am! I miss my family already but I am so grateful I had 2 full weeks of family, fun and DELICIOUS food…now it’s back to the grind so tune in and you will be rewarded with a quick and DELICIOUS recipe below that happens to be filling my cup above!!

This break I decided it was time for me to take a coffee holiday…WHAT?! But my motto is “No coffee, no workie”. Yes friends, you would be right but I have decided to take a few weeks off of coffee to give my body a break. Just like Pearl and I tell you on Nutrition Genius Radio that you need a supplement holiday, coffee and caffeine are no different. It has been hard for me as I truly enjoy the taste of coffee and a warm cup in the morning warms my soul but instead I have been have 2 cups of my homemade bone broth and my body is thanking me for it 🙂

Alright so you want the dish? I’ll dish it to you quick and then leave you with a sweet treat to savor and share with your friends…WOW them 🙂

Breakfast:
2 cups of bone broth
2 cups water with 1 tsp. Magnesium Powder and fresh squeezed lemon juice
Leftover lemon-coconut spaghetti squash (still perfecting the recipe!)
Apple-Onion Sausage Patties with mustard (recipe in our FREE ebook for email subscribers)

Lunch: 
A stir-fry of leftovers….my favorite lunch specialty…I really don’t like to think of typical “breakfast”, “lunch” and “dinner” all rules are off in my book 🙂

Dinner:
Red-Wine Braised Grass-Fed Short Ribs (from Tilldale Farm in Hoosick, NY) with Carrots and Onions
A side of coconut milk & ghee mashed sweet potatoes

Workout of the Day?!

3 mile walk in the COLD….#noexcuses friends, just bundle up and get moving!
&
5×5 Bench Press (85,90,90,95,100) followed by a 2k row @ 8:16.3

Merry Minty Hot Cocoa

Merry Minty Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 1 Tbsp. 100% Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
  • 14 drops Peppermint Oil (or ~1/8 tsp Peppermint Extract), more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Grade B Maple Syrup, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat until heated through.
  2. Whisk to combine well.
  3. Enjoy!

I think this drink would be the BOMBDOTCOM with some homemade MARSHMALLOWS (please do NOT buy the ones from your grocery store…they are NOT real food….just read the ingredient label!) Check out this recipe by The Urban Poser for an idea!
