Ever wonder what is on our plates?! Well we figured you did, so we are here to bring you a weekly segment on what we are eating on one given day during the week! If you follow our Nutrition Genius Radio podcast then you are fully versed in our real food eating philosophy and should not be too surprised that we may eat breakfast for dinner or lunch for breakfast!
This week we take a peek into Sassy’s real food lifestyle with some recipes below 🙂 #sassyapproved meals!
2 eggs scrambled in bacon grease and seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder
1 cup broccoli florets sautéed in bacon grease and pepper.
2 slices pasture-raised bacon
12 oz. Pumpkin Spice Latte (found in our E-book) made with Chameleon Cold Brew Coffee (go check them out and tell them I sent you!)
16 oz. cold water with 1 tsp. Natural Calm Magnesium Powder
(not pictured) 1 cup homemade bone broth (recipe in e-book)
1/2 can Wild Planet Albacore Tuna
1 cup sautéed spinach in coconut oil seasoned w/ salt & pepper
Handful of black olives
1/4 cup sauerkraut
2 tsp. Stone Ground Brown Mustard (made with Apple Cider Vinegar)
Easy Butternut Squash Soup
1 medium butternut squash, peeled and cubed (roast in oven for 30 min. @ 400°F)
1 onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, diced
1 cup coconut milk
2 cups bone broth (more as needed, depends on the size of the squash)
2 Tbsp. coconut oil
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Salt & pepper to taste
Heat coconut oil over medium heat in a soup pot or dutch oven. Add onions and garlic, sauté until onion is translucent. Add roasted butternut squash and stir to mix. Add cinnamon, coconut milk and bone broth (add more as needed) and bring to a simmer. Lower heat and blend with an immersion blender until well combined. Let simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.Hot Pork/Beef Meatballs (6)
2 lbs. ground meat (I used 1 lb. pork and 1 lb. grass-fed beef) 1/4 cup hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot)
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. ground black pepperPreheat oven to 400 °F. Combine all ingredients and form into small round meatballs. Place on broiler pan and cook for 20 minutes or until internal temperature has reached 160°F. Bacon-licious Spinach (3/4 cup) 3 slices bacon, fully cooked & crumbled (bacon grease reserved)
2 cups frozen spinach
1 tsp. garlic powder
salt & pepper to tasteHeat bacon grease in skillet over medium-heat. Add spinach and spices and sauté until heated through. Add crumbled bacon, mix well.
